Pepa Martin and Karen Davis are the founders of Shibori, a boutique textile agency renowned for pushing the boundaries of this ancient Japanese craft. We’ll hear all about their journey and experiences building a creative enterprise, and the designer collaborations along the way. Plus there will be the opportunity to purchase their unique and beautiful pieces after the event.

The pair have collaborated with famous Australian designers and worked on unique projects using their shibori dyeing techniques including fabric inlayed surf boards with McTavish and Sibella Court, a homewares range with Lee Mathews, a collection with Fleur Wood, and even a full-scale dip dyed hot air balloon. In 2015 their new how-to book “Tie dip Dye” will be published by Thames & Hudson. Pepa and Karen hold weekly workshops at their fabulous studio space in Stanmore, and at the iconic furniture and homewares store Koskela, inspiring people to unlock their creativity and think with their hands.
