Fresh from an east coast tour that saw the band hit Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Byron Bay and Tumut Julia Why? bring their sweet n’ sour 90s/60s scuz back to their spiritual and geographical home; Marrickville. The femme-driven indie three-piece have been riding high off the back of their new single ‘Candy’; the first delicious slice off their anticipated new album set for release later this year.
“What it comes down to is infectious and fantastic songs. They’re short knockouts that scrape away bullshit, and replace it with the kind of delirious, fuzzy pop that put Karen O and Sleater-Kinney on the map. …” – Ryan Saar, FBi Radio
Neighbours the band was formed in Sydney’s inner west by Jorja (vox), Amasaki (guitars) Dean (bass) and Lex (drums). The driving foundation of bass and drums are painted over the top with Amasaki’s inventive, innovative guitars and Jorja’s heady vocals.
Neighbours have been described us as “X-Ray Spex with 90’s guitar” and the sound of “1983”.
